LGBT Labour Yorkshire & the Humber
LGBT Labour Yorkshire & the Humber is LGBT Labour’s new regional voice for the LGBT community within Yorkshire and The Humber region.
We are at an early stage of putting the group together. We will be modelling on the very successful North West region, who have brought lots of LGBT members together and increased LGBT representation within the party across their region.
We'd love for as many people as possible to get involved, and we're especially keen to have representatives from all areas of the region. If you're interested in helping or want to start organising and recruiting members in your area, then let us know.
We will be campaigning for the Labour party within the LGBT community. We organise events, campaigning activity and work with the Labour party, trades unions, community groups and LGBT community to achieve full equality for LGBT people.
The area covered by Yorkshire & the Humber regional group is: Humberside, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.
LGBT Labour Yorkshire & the Humber committee
We will be working up to a formal launch in the summer with the election of a small committee to oversee things from there.
Co-ordinating the launch of the regional group are:
James Hepplestone (Halifax CLP)
Gavin Lambert (Morley & Outwood CLP)
If you would like to join us and play an active role in LGBT Labour Yorkshire & the Humber please contact James or Gavin on lgbtlabour@ymail.com
